My son and I observed and photographed a female harlequin duck diving and
fishing in Lake Ontario off the armour stone beach at about 2:30 pm on
Saturday, April 14. At least one digital photo is available now, and maybe
more when I get my film back today. Other notables - Caspian tern, ruddy,
grebes (red necked/horned), wigeon, gadwall, female ring-necked, scaup,
bufflehead, coots, red breasted merganser. I think that's it.

Not sure if these have been reported but we saw several Golden-Crowned
Kinglets at Britannia Woods yesterday. One just inside the entrance gate
and several on the path close to the river. Also saw 2 pairs of Wood Ducks
at the far (south) end of Mud Lake near the foot bridge.

Directions: Pinecrest Road (exit 129) off the Hwy 417. Go north on
Pinecrest, then turn right (east) onto Richmond Road. After Richmond crosses
Carling Avenue, turn left (north) onto Poulin Avenue. Poulin intersects with
Britannia Road. Turn right onto Britannia, go to end near yacht club and
turn right on Cassels Street. Proceed to entrance to Britannia Woods and
park. Go through the gate on the north (river side) side of Cassels and
take path along river. Kinglets were in prickly shrubs on either side of
path.
