Hi All!

I just had a couple of birders come in and report a Lark Sparrow, just
north of Point Pelee National Park, at the Sturgeon Creek bridge, acros=
s
from Pelee Wings Nature Store.

David and James Bradley had the bird this morning, feeding on the groun=
d
with a mixed flock of other sparrows. It was working in the area betwe=
en
the old marina and restaurant and the cement pad. I would suggest park=
ing
at Pelee Wings and walking acorss the road to view.

Good birding!

Sarah

I visitted Rondeau on Wednesday April 25. Not too much action. A lot of Veery,
wrens, flocks of White Throated Sparrows, and 2 ovenbirds. Did spot one Towhee
as well. He was digging through some brush about 4 feet away from me. Anyone
else been out there or in the area?? Leave a message. I'm from Wallaceburg and
I don't want to miss the Warbler action once it begins. Sounds like it's
started in other locales. ie. Sarnia and Northern areas.

An update from Rondeau Park:

After a slow start, birds have been showing up this week.
A Clay-colored Sparrow was found yesterday (Fri.) in front of the churches
on Lakeshore Rd. in the park. It was there again today mixed in with about
75 Chipping sparrows.
A female Ruffed Grouse, an elusive bird for Rondeau, was seen yesterday near
the entrance of the Marsh Trail.
I located an immaculate HOODED WARBLER behind the maintenance compound on
Thursday, and it was still in the vicinity today.
As well, Steve Charbonneau and I heard both a LOUISIANA and a NORTHERN
WATERTHRUSH within a two minutes of each other on Rondeau Rd. south of
Spicebush Trail at 06:30 this morning.
Other warblers included several Black-and-White, Palm, Black-throated Green,
Nashville, Ovenbird, 2 Blue-winged and about 10 Pine Warblers today (one
being a very gray bird). A couple of Pine Warblers first showed up last
Sunday.
Wood Thrushes were singing this morning and that was the only other thrush
besides Hermit so far.
Several White-eyed Vireos are in the park, with two on Spicebush this
morning, and one near the Pony Barn. Blue-headed and Warbling were also
there.
The first Baltimore Orioles showed up yesterday, and one was on south point
this morning.
The first Red-headed Woodpecker was seen yesterday as well.

Rondeau Provincial Park is found by exiting 401 at #101 (Kent Bridge Rd.)
and travelling south to Rose Beach Line. Turn right and head towards the
park. Watch for prominent highway signs

Yours in birding,
