Good morning everyone,
This is a note reminding all OFO members of the field trip to Prince Edward
Point on Sunday, May 13th. Spring migrants will be the focus at this
south-eastern tip of Prince Edward County, well known for its concentrations
of songbirds. Meet at 7:00 a.m.
From Picton, take County Road 10 (Lake Street at the LCBO) for 8 km to
Cherry Valley, turn left at stop sign and follow for 6 km to Milford. At
post office, turn right and continue on County Road 10 to the Mariner's
Museum at South Bay. Turn right onto County Road 13 and follow for 17 km to
Prince Edward Point. Bring your lunch and a coffee. You're a long way from a
Tim Horton's !
Please note, that we WILL NOT be meeting at the Ducks Dive Charters at Civic
Address # 5535 as we have done in the past, but rather, 1 km beyond, just
prior to the sharp bend at the Point Traverse Woods. Look for the roadside
portable washroom and a silver Jeep Cherokee with NatureStuff logos on the
doors. I will have the amber "birding beacon" activated on the roof.
