It is still breezy from the south-west. There are lots of birds to look at
throughout the Park. Another great day to bird.

At the tip a number of birds taking part in a "reverse migration". Involved
were Scarlet Tanager, Indigo Bunting, Goldfinch, Cedar Waxwing, Baltimore
and Orchard Oriole, Bobolink, and others. Warblers sighted were Cape May,
Yellow, Prothonotary, Black-throated Green and many others. Also noted at
the tip were Hooded Warbler, Mourning, Canada Warbler and Yellow-breasted
Chat, Hooded and many common species such as Redstart, Chestnut-sided and
Magnolia. Red-headed and Red-bellied Woodpecker were noted. Scarlet
Tanagers and Baltimore Orioles festooned the trees. We noted an Eastern
Bluebird there as well. A Grasshopper Sparrow worked the grass on the west
side, just south of the solar panel. Several vireo species including
Yellow-throated and White-eyed were noted at the tip.

Our hike in Tilden Woods found the female Summer Tanager once again. Also
noted were many species of warbler, including a Golden-winged, Cerulean and
also a Kentucky. There were many thrushes including Wood, and Swainson's.
There was a White-eyed Vireo noted there.

At Norh-west Beach a Yellow-billed Cuckoo was found.

Those on the Woodland Nature trail reported a Prothonotary Warbler, and
Hooded Warbler.

And remarkably, just outside the doors of the Visitor Centre, Prothonotary
and Hooded also.

Nothing yet from outside the Park but we will send a note later if
something interesting is reported.

Good Birding,

John Haselmayer, Karl Konze, Ross Mackintosh, Dave Martin, Pete Read and
Marianne Reid,
