Yesterday (Sat. June 9, 2007) I visited the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area just north of Brockville Ontario. I don¹t think I have heard mention of this wildlife area on this page; I found it quite rewarding to visit. There were lots of birds including a Least Bittern. About 10:00 am I found the bittern from the board walk in the SW corner of the conservation area. The bird was catching fish on a mud flat and was in open sun for about 15 minutes. Later I found American Bittern, Osprey, Field Sparrow and a resident Trumpeter Swan along with more common species.
