Don Sands here...

At Gordon Richards Park, along the Waterfront Trail, I observed a small
sparrow fitting the description of the Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow, both
plummage and song. I have never seen one before so I am hestitant to be
dogmatic re: ID.

The bird was very tame and allowed me to get within 2 metres of it.

I have come to this conclusion based on comparing ID points at this site.

Access to the Gordon Richards Park: Park at Thicksons Point and walk west
along the Waterfront Trail. Signs indicate when you arrive at the Park. The
sparrow was the north side of the trail.

I would appreciate reports of others who see this bird. Thanks.

Greetings: I have just returned from the constructed wetland. This was =
my 7th attempt to try and see the Glossy Ibis. I did indeed see the =
Ibis this time out (1045)

I set up my scope near the County Road 64 road sign and scanned the area =
reported by Doug Mcrae. It was a challenge to find him as he was =
feeding very close to the cattails.

Good luck!
Maureen Campeau

Directions: The Constructed Wetland is located at the SE corner of =20
Brighton. From Hwy 401, take the Brighton exit (Hwy. 30)and follow =20
it south into town. Go south through the two traffic lights, over =20
the railway tracks and follow the main road, now called Prince Edward =20
Street, south. About 1 km south of the tracks, the main road begins =20
to swing to the left and becomes Cty. Rd. 64. As this long turn =20
ends, the constructed wetlands appear on the right side.
