While cycling north along the Baseline Road just east of Coboconk (Kawartha
Lakes area), I observed a Red-shouldered Hawk near Shadow Lake Road #12, then,
further north near the road that runs west into Norland, a pair of Broad-winged
Hawks that crossed the road in front of me and disappeared into the trees on
the west side doing their high-pitched "pewee" like calls. I also observed two
Ospreys, which are quite common in this area, and one Red-tailed Hawk along
Hwy. 35 closer to Rosedale.

Coboconk is about a 20 minute drive east of the Carden Plain, on the north
side of Balsam Lake along Hwy. 35 (which runs north from Lindsay up to Minden
and Haliburton).
