The two Whimbrels that were on Gull Island at Presqu'ile yesterday and
the Buff-breasted Sandpiper that was found there yesterday by Maureen
Riggs were found again on the north shore of Gull Island at 3:15 this
afternoon. For most of the day they had remained hidden around a corner
or in a part of the island not visible from shore. A scope is
recommended, and lots of patience. Viewing is best from lookouts 3 or 5
on the Owen Point trail.
Reach Presqu'ile by following the signs from Brighton. Gull Island is
off limits but can be seen from the mainland, as noted above.
