The south platform on the west side of Cranberry Marsh in southwest Whitby continues to be a great spot for songbirds. On Aug.30--n.oriole, 7 Great Egrets, 3 Chimney swifts, winter wren, great crested flycatcher, YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, Wilson's warbler, least flycatcher, rose-breasted grosbeak, 7 migrating common loons, many MONARCHS (mid-AM count of 20/min.).

On Aug.31--3 Great Egrets, 1 common loon, yellow warbler, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, Am. redstart, red-eyed vireo, many r-t hummingirds.

Many mornings we are entertained by the likes of a resident Merlin and an Osprey carrying a fish.

the Lynde C.A. parking lot to Hall's Rd.
