Hi all,

A quick post:

A single juvenile Stilt Sandpiper was seen at the Independent Grocery Store
stormwater pond today around 12:30pm. Other shorebirds present were Killdeer,
and Lesser Yellowlegs.

The Independent is located on Highway 21 on the north outskirts of Port Elgin.
The stormwater pond is in the back on the south side of Concession 10.

2 Red Knots originally found Wednesday during the Bruce Birding Club outing
were refound in Miramichi Bay around 1:00pm. From the Independent proceed west
towards the lake and turn right when you reach the lake. Within a kilometer is
Miramichi Bay; the second smaller Bay is Horeshoe Bay. The Red Knots have
been active from the rocky outer areas of the bay to right close to the road on
the exposed sand flats. As there are few other shorebirds present just large
numbers of ducks and geese, they were fairly easy to re-find.
