Visitors:
Visiting birders and photographers from: Bloomfield Hills, MI, Moffat (near
Milton) ON, Windsor, ON, Northville MI, and others from throughout Essex
County.


Weather:
Overcast most of the day with temperatures ranging from 20C - 26C. Winds 7
- 14 km/h mostly out of the N or NE until afternoon when they switched to
NW and then S. 

Raptor Observations:
The weather conditions were perfect for a big BW day, but only 4 seen all
day. Bald Eagles were the feature of the day with 12 in total and 10
immature birds between Noon and 1 p.m. The height of flight was very high
most of the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
The non-raptor highlight of the day was two Solitary Sandpiper in the pond
at the base of the tower. There was also a steady stream of hundreds of
Monarch Butterfly every hour all day through the whole range of height of
flight, even up with the Turkey Vultures.

Predictions:
The forecast is for rain all day with N to NE winds up to 15 km/h. Could be
a good Merlin and Peregrine day.
