Observation start time: 06:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8.5 hours

Official Counter: Colin Horstead, Su Ross-Redmond

Observers: Colin Horstead, Harvey Patterson, Mary Carnahan,
                  Wayne Parnall

Visitors:
A few today...and thanks to Mary Carnahan, Wayne Parnall for helping Su,
Colin and Harvey with today's count.

Weather:
Strong SW winds all day today...with bright sun and hazy skies at this
point in September it made for a slow flight. Temp made it to a high of 23
C.

Raptor Observations:
Given the wind direction it wasn't surprising that the flight was smaller
today with just 146 raptors counted. The real highlight for the day was the
Peregrines (3) that cruised past on the cliff...obviously taking advantage
of the excellent lift created by the strong SW winds blowing up the cliff.

Non-raptor Observations:

Predictions:
Well....if the rain holds off early Saturday morning, and the winds hang in
strong from the NW, then I think we'll see a significant flight tomorrow!!
Of course in this neck of the woods there's no guarantee that the weather
will cooperate....so let's keep our fingers crossed.
