As noted in my report yesterday, several extra restrictions had been placed on locations in Presqu'ile Park which the non-hunting public could access on hunting days this fall (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). As the result of amicable negotiations with the Park Superintendent, those extra restrictions will not be imposed. On hunting days for the first few weeks of the hunting season, birders and the general public will after all be allowed access to Owen Point. Later in the season, the Owen Point trail will remain open as far as lookout #3, even on hunting days. The Superintendent regrets that signs indicating otherwise had been erected in incorrect locations, and asked me to inform birders of the less restrictive arrangements noted above.
