Observation start time: 06:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8.5 hours

Official Counter: Jennifer Lyon

Observers: Derek Lyon, Don Taylor, Keith Sealy, Leola Sealy,
                  Mark Cunningham, Su Ross-Redmond

Visitors:
Thanks to the usual crew for helping with today's count...and also to Leola
S. and David Hill.

Weather:
Another beautiful day today, though still a bit too nice for a big push of
raptors. Lots of cloud in the morning ..breaking out slightly midday and
then fog rolling in for the afternoon cutting visibility to under 1 km.
Contiuing warmer with a temp to 24 C.

Raptor Observations:
Wow...obviously the cloud helped quite a bit today as the counters tallied
another 975 birds. Impact bird for the day (as for most days so far this
season) was Sharpies (759) with highlights being Cooper's Hawk(13), Merlin
(11) and Peregrine (2). Again not a single Broadwing.
Interestingly, I had a call from my brother in St. Marys to say that he
had a kettle of nearly 200 Broadwings just over his home...and they were
headed SW towards London. Obviously, there is still a number of Broadwings
moving through the region...just not through the hawkwatch areas.

Non-raptor Observations:

Predictions:
The weekend continues to look promising with predicted W to NW winds for
Saturday and NE winds for Sunday and little chance of precipitation. Come
out and join us for the HCF 2nd Hawk Cliff Weekend activities.
