Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 17:00:00
Total observation time: 10 hours

Official Counter: Calvin Brennan

Observers: Darlene Friedman, Paul Cypher

Visitors:
About 30 people in all were present at the watch today.

Weather:
Clearing during the morning made for a completely sunny day with little or
no cloud cover making for the usual difficult high sky conditions. Winds
were generally from the west and varied from light to moderate and even a
bit gusty at times.

Raptor Observations:
While most species moved in steady numbers throughout the day, there were
two distinct pulses of Broad-wing activity. The first was a group of about
15 hundred that passed by during the third hour of the count and then
another peak was seen during the last couple hours of the day. This latter
movement I speculate bodes well for a good flight of this species tomorrow,
of course depending on wind and other weather variables. Vultures appear to
be hitting their stride with today being the first 100+ day of the season.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays continued to move impressively today with many thousands passing
by the watch.
