Conditions overall were overcast with a few sunny breaks in the afternoon with partial clearing occurring late in the day. Winds were light for the most part and generally from the south. Raptor Observations: There was virtually no movement of birds until the early afternoon and even then the flight was but a trickle. Peregrines have been one of the highlights of the last week or so and the two seen today added some flavor to an otherwise lackluster day. Non-raptor Observations: There was a good number of passerines in and near the area of the watch today with 7 or 8 species of warbler present including Black-throated Green, Black-throated Blue, Bay-breasted, Cape May and Blackpoll along with some thrushes and sparrows among which Gray-cheeked Thrush and Lincolns Sparrow were the best finds. A late Eastern Pewee was also noted as well as a couple of juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
