Weather:
Fog and haze delayed the beginning of the count today and really did not
totally burn off until very late in the day reducing visibility to about a
mile early in the day to about eight miles in the afternoon. Conditions
overall were overcast with a few sunny breaks in the afternoon with partial
clearing occurring late in the day. Winds were light for the most part and
generally from the south.

Raptor Observations:
There was virtually no movement of birds until the early afternoon and even
then the flight was but a trickle. Peregrines have been one of the
highlights of the last week or so and the two seen today added some flavor
to an otherwise lackluster day.

Non-raptor Observations:
There was a good number of passerines in and near the area of the watch
today with 7 or 8 species of warbler present including Black-throated
Green, Black-throated Blue, Bay-breasted, Cape May and Blackpoll along with
some thrushes and sparrows among which Gray-cheeked Thrush and Lincoln’s
Sparrow were the best finds. A late Eastern Pewee was also noted as well as
a couple of juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers.
