I saw a single Tufted Titmouse in the thickets along the Avon River in the
TJ Dolan Natural Area in Stratford this morning. There was little sign of
warbler activity with 3 yellow-rumps being the only ones seen. Large
numbers of American Robins were feeding on the abundant berry crop and
flocks of Blue Jays were moving around. Some of the birds seen:
Eastern Phoebe 3
Tufted Titmouse 1
Blue Jay 60+
Ameriacn Robin 40+
Swamp Sparrow 1
White-throated Sparrow 20+
The TJ Dolan Natural Area straddles the Avon River on the west side of
Stratford. There is a parking lot with a map on John Street at Centre
Street. The TUTI was near the main trail about 300 m west of the parking
lot.
