Weather:
Today continued the unseasonably warm trend of the last couple of days, a
pattern that is likely to last several more days. Conditions overall were
humid and hazy reducing visibility although this improved somewhat in the
afternoon. Winds were light to moderate east-southeast for much of the
day.

Raptor Observations:
After a very slow start there was more or less a steady trickle of birds
from about mid morning onward dominated by Accipiters. The last couple of
days have seen a shift in the ratio of Sharpies to Cooper’s Hawks as the
migration for the latter species picks up, a typical scenario for this time
of year. The only TV group of any size was recorded late in the day when
conditions were at their clearest, making one wonder if they were going by
undetected well to the north during the hazier portions of the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
Even during today’s warm hazy conditions, Blue Jays moved steadily
throughout the day. There were quite a few Monarchs noted as well,
certainly a few dozen but probably more.
