Winds were light out of the west early becoming moderate and gusty west-northwest. Raptor Observations: After two days of damp gray weather, it was perhaps not surprising that it took some time for any sort of sizable flight to develop. By midday there was a steady if modest movement of birds, which would build throughout the afternoon with the biggest push of birds being during the last couple of hours of the count. Highlighting the day was another good Buteo movement including a dark morph Rough-leg and a rufous morph Red-tail. The best part of the day for many of the good-sized crowd assembled at the watch today were the Golden Eagles tallied, particularly the last couple seen late in the day that were overhead and fairly low.
