I viewed the juvenile pectoral sandpiper Iain Fleming reported hanging out with killdeers on the mudflats at the mouth of Mimico Creek at 4:30 PM Wednesday. The eyebrow is very white and very prominent. I wonder if it could be a Sharp-tailed sandpiper? The white eyebrow is supposed to be the distinguishing feature. It would be a long way from home but given the time of year and westerly winds, I wonder. The bird was with about a dozen killdeers close to a log straight out from the boat launching ramp in Humber Bay Park West.
