Weather:
Conditions overhead were very much similar as the day previous with the
exception of the wind direction. There was little or no wind until late
morning after which winds were light to moderate varying from
south-southwest to south-southeast.

 




Raptor Observations:
The flight today began much earlier than yesterday with a much steadier and
consistent movement throughout the day. Much of the migration was somewhat
to the north but stayed at a manageable distance rather than getting blown
entirely out of view. There were plenty of birds overhead as well to keep
everyone interested. The breakdown was similar to yesterday also but with
less vultures and more Red-shoulders represented in the overall count.
Among the many Red-tails seen today was an adult rufous morph that flew
more or less overhead, giving a great view.
