Margaret Bain just [9.30 a.m.] called to say the gannet is still off
Cobourg harbour. I append the edited parts of my post yesterday for
details.
An Immature N. Gannet has been visiting feeding flocks of loons, Red-
breasted Mergansers and gulls [but sometimes alone]. on the east side
of the main pier in Cobourg. The flocks come and go, and so does the
gannet. It was seen repeatedly yesterday, often after 30 minutes
wait, so it's a matter of sitting and waiting. You'll likely never
see a closer gannet.
Directions: Exit #401 at the eastern Cobourg exit [#474] and turn
south off the exit ramp. This is Division Street. Continue south
through town and Division ends in the main pier of the harbour, with
excellent views of the area.
Clive Goodwin
Cobourg.
