Today's OFO outing attracted 32 members and friends, who enjoyed a very good day of winter birding. A total of 56 species included the following highlights:At Humber Bay Park (foot of Park Lawn at Lakeshore) a Killdeer, Northern Shrike, Mockingbirds, WW Scoter, female Black Scoter, Ruddy Duck, Horned Grebe, a Coot and 3 Common Loons were seen. At Col. Sam Smith Pk (foot of Kipling Ave.) were American Kestrel, American Pipit, 4 Red-necked Grebes,Winter Wren, GC Kinglets, and 8 Snow Buntings. At the north end of Grenadier Pond (Ellis Ave.) at High Park, Chris Escott discovered a Virginia Rail in the cattails. Also seen here were 3 Swamp Sparrows and a Great Blue Heron.
