Hello I haven't got all the data yet, but here is a summary of the St. Catharines CBC so far.
We had 32 participants who found 80 species and 17,849 individuals. The number of species is above average but the number of individuals is below average. High counts Snow Goose - 4 Wood Ducks - 3 Ring-necked Ducks - 12 Hooded Merganser - 94 Red-breasted Merganser - 343 Double-crested Cormorant - 56 Bald Eagle - 3 Common Redpolls - 153 also of note - Canada Goose (2251) - highest count in 10 years; Mallard (1029) highest count in 10 years; Low counts American Black Ducks - 8 - lowest count in 20 years Bonaparte's Gulls - 80 - lowest count in 20 years Ring-billed Gull - 528 - lowest count in 20 years Herring Gulls - 95 - lowest count in 20 years Downy Woodpecker - 55 - lowest count in 20 years Northern Mockingbird - 24 - lowest count in 20 years Song Sparrow - 3 - lowest count in 30 years also of note - we didn't count a Belted Kingfisher for the first time in 30 years! 1 Gray Catbird; 45 Redheads; 1 Redwinged Blackbird (first in 4 years) ; and 1 Purple Finch (first in 6 years).
