The 5 Greater White-fronted Geese were asleep on the ice among the Canadas
at the foot of the Ganaraska River in Port Hope at noon today. This was just
where the river empties into the harbour and right by the parking lot at the
foot of Mill Street.
There is a small flock of goldeneye at the mouth of the harbour and among
them for the last week or so has been a well-studied female Barrow's which I
thought I saw again today. If you can't see the goldeneye well enough from
the walkway at the foot of Mill Street, drive west around the Cameco factory
to the harbour mouth where there is parking.

Directions: Take Hwy 401 to exit 464 (Ontario Street) and bear left on Mill
Street where the road forks. Continue to the end of Mill Street where there
is parking beside the river.
