Hello fellow birder As of yet the wetlands in Brighton sewage system are still frozen over, but it will be open as soon as it breaks up, as I did last year I will be doing the same, as those who know we were open on the Sunday till time allows me to be there on Friday afternoon/evening, I hope this will be acceptable till we get the pass system setup, I am being told by my boss Jim Phillips that he intend to set one up, cross your fingers and toes. Until then if anyone wishes to set up for group visitation I will only be to willing to be there to open the Wetlands , all I need is some notification, 2 weeks if possible but if 1 week is all you have I will make the time available, as before you can contact me by e-mail, home phone 613-475-0881 or cell phone 613-391-9142, as you may heard that St. Maries Cement will be donating the surrounding area as a nature preserve or something to affect, as soon as we find out more we will let everyone know what the plan is, Doug McRae and I will be working with them for their future plans for the area.
Please print out the following instructions and keepem handy, this is going to be a good year. Directions: The Constructed Wetland is located at the SE corner of Brighton. From Hwy 401, take the Brighton exit (Hwy. 30)and follow it south into town. Go south through the two traffic lights, over the railway tracks and follow the main road, now called Prince Edward Street, south. About 1 km south of the tracks, the main road begins to swing to the left and becomes Cty. Rd. 64. As this long turn ends, the constructed wetlands appear on the right side. Hope to see You Keith " Tiny" Lee _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
