This afternoon (ca. 4:30) a male Barrow's Goldeneye was feeding a few hundred
yards north (downstream) of the 417 bridge over the Rideau River. This the
only Barrow's I could find with ca. 140 Goldeneye and several Common Mergansers
between that bridge and the next bridge (Cummins) downstream.

Directions, taken from NeilyWorld: From Highway 417 (The Queensway) take exit
117 (Vanier Parkway). Go northwest 1.2 km to Donald Street and turn left or
west onto it. Proceed 0.5 km to the intersection of Donald and River Road.
Turn left (south) on River Road and park at the end (ca. 1 km). When spotted
this afternoon the bird was mid-river just across from that parking spot.
