At 3:45pm I was watching a male Pine Grosbeak outside of my window, in a 1m.
shrub. Literally out of nowhere a hawk nabbed it, both falling to a sidewalk
below. The juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk stood on its prey, it being a fairly big
bird, relatively speaking. As a person walked up towards it the hawk flew off,
weighted down, into a nearby spruce tree.
This took place on Reedaire Ct. in west-central Whitby.
