Weather:
Generally clear with temperatures around 5 degrees celsius, winds light 5
to 10 km/hr WNW for most of the day.
Raptor Observations:
An excellent mid-March flight--173 raptors observed of 10 species. The
highlights were an adult male peregrine, 1 northern goshawk, and 7 bald
eagles. The local raptors were active today--2 pairs of red-tailed hawks
and 1 pair of coopers hawks.
Non-raptor Observations:
Spring migrants noted included the first grackle, 1 killdeer, 1 great blue
heron, several robins. Other noteworthy species included common redpolls,
mockingbirds, red-bellied woodpecker, cedar waxwings and 1 raven.
