Weather:
Sunny with haze. Temp ranged from 9.5C to 16.2C. Breeze from E. No
precipitation.
Raptor Observations:
9 species of raptors. Predominately T.V. , R.T., and S.S.
Non-raptor Observations:
2 flocks of Double Crested Cormorants - 3 at 12:30pm and 3 at 1:30pm with
both groups flying north just below the ridge. 2 Common Loon, 1 Sandhill
Crane, 2 Tree Swallows, 1 male E. Bluebird, 3 Fox Sparrows, 1 Belted
Kingfisher.
Predictions:
>From 2 pm to 4 pm there were only 2 SS as the temperature dropped to 11.4C.
There probably aren't many more raptors in the pipeline to come through
early in the morning.

Site Description:
Beamer Conservation Area is located on top of the Niagara Escarpment above
the town of Grimsby, Ontario. The site is 1km south of the south shore of
Lake Ontario, 20km east of Hamilton, 40km west of Niagara Falls.
Directions to site:
To get to Beamer CA, take the QEW to Exit 72, follow Christie St./Mountain
St. to the top of the escarpment, turn right on Ridge Road West, and go
1.6km to Quarry Rd. Turn right on Quarry Rd. and drive 100m to the
conservation area. Parking is normally available inside the park. If
parking at the entrance or on the roads, do NOT leave valuables in your
car.
