Oblivious to the sounds of the construction of the new
Presqu'ile Marsh Boardwalk, just 30 feet away, two
male great egrets put on displays and battled for
territory on the edge of the marsh east of the main
park road on Thursday. Magnificent!

Construction will end shortly as the nesting season in
the marsh begins and start again next winter. Since
June 2007, $240,000. of required $360,000. has been
raised, in part thanks to a very generous initial
donation by local birdwatcher Audrey E. Wilson of
Cobourg (now dealing with a very serious illness).
