Today I saw a Green-backed Heron fly over as I was passing the intersection of
Bathurst St. and Hwy. 9 in Newmarket. It was heading in the general direction
of several small ponds on the north side of Hwy. 9 east of Bathurst. Seems a
few weeks early from my recollection ogf arrival dates. There are quite a few
Caspian Terns cruising along the Holland River by the bridge on Bridge St./Hwy.
11 as you enter Bradford.

Location of heron is north on Hwy.400, east on Hwy. 9 to Bathurst St. It was
flying in a NE direction across Bathurst.
Terns are at the bridge as you cross the Holland River coming from Newmarket
into Bradford on Hwy. 11/Bridge St.
