Hi All,

On a phone tip from Kayo Roy, my wife, father-in-law and I observed an immature Trumpeter Swan (no tags) with an adult Mute Swan, on Lake Gibson in Thorold. It was observed earlier this evening (4/16) at 6:45 PM on the lake, south of Beaverdams Rd.

We also observed our first female Red-winged Blackbird and Barn Swallow of 2008 and 2 pairs of American Wigeons.

Bob Highcock and Jean Hampson

Directions:

From St. Catharines, travel south on Hwy 406. Exit Hwy 406 at Beaverdams Rd
and travel east along Beaverdams Rd. Lake Gibson is 0.5 km east of Hwy. 406 and a small parking area will be on the right hand side. A red barn will be on the left.
