Late this afternoon I was south of our airport on High Rd off Albion
and Earl Armstrong Rd between High Rd and Limebank Rd.
On High, near the golf course, I heard the lovely song of a Brown
Thrasher and further along the same road, I watched a male Eastern
Bluebird at a nest box.
Turning down Earl Armstrong Rd, there was a Barn Swallow by the old
barn, and another pair of bluebirds hunting near the storage yard.
Continuing along, I watched 4 male Wild Turkeys in full display to 7
supposedly disinterested females. No camera, of course! They were
in a back field, with 1 male and 2 females in the corn rows.
Please note that the section of Earl Armstrong between Bowesville and
the S curve west of that intersection is very bad, having been
churned up by trucks. Take care with your vehicles, especially
small, low ones.
Cheers, Eve
