I was driving around on some back roads in Grey and Bruce counties near Park
Head today.

To my surprise, there were 10 great egrets in an large, open swampy area about
15 km west of Owen Sound. 6 of the birds were moving around in the centre of
the swamp, and 4 others were roosting in a dead tree on the far side.

Directions: Highway 21 west from Owen Sound to Jackson. Turn right, then left,
then right, then left on the back roads. You will be on Concession 3 Keppel
Township, facing west.
The birds are about 300 meters west of the corner of Old School Road and
Concession 3, on the south side.
