This June 12 morning I was surprised to see a male Orchard Oriole near the Hall's Rd.entry to the north pathway to Cranberry Marsh. With tree-leafing, gas price et al contributing to fewer birds being seen in Durham Region, please allow me to promote The Station Gallery in south Whitby (southwest corner of Henry and Victoria Sts.) Presently, Jody Melanson, an excellent nature photographer, has 6 large prints hanging on one wall. The new curator, Olex Wlasenko, wishes to promote local artisans and their work.
