The Ross's Goose appeared at Reesor Pond today and this evening returned to the sod farm on the NW corner of Reesor Road and Hwy 7 with Canada Geese to feed on fresh grass. At the pond a juvenile male Peregrine Falcon took a couple of swipes at a Greater Yellowlegs high above and missed both times. A Great Egret along with 2 GBH's stalked the shore. Tonight a pair of Pectoral Sandpipers were added to the days's skimpy list of shorebirds. Several duck species are emerging from eclipse plumage. DC Cormorants are common. Reesor pond lies just N of Hwy 407 on Reesor Road in Markham. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
