At 9:30a.m. today I located 2 NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED SPARROWS at the north
end of the pond on the KFN Property at the east end of Amherst Island. Quite
often they can be seen right along the pathway, but these two were at northwest
side of the pond right beside the large snag, which requires rubber boots to
get to. They were located by softly pishing which makes them jump out to
investigate and usually they will stay within good view for a while.
Other good sightings include 1 GREAT EGRET, 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, 3 AMERICAN
PIPITS, 1 MERLIN, 2 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, 1 AMERICAN BITTERN, 1 HOUSE WREN, 8
MARSH WRENS and 8 TREE SWALLOWS. There were only a few shorebirds.

Cheers
