Highlights of reports received September 25 through October 2 from the Niagara Frontier Region include CLAY-COL. SPARROW, LITTLE GULL, SCOTERS, EARED GREBE and warblers.

September 25 in the Town of Amherst, a very rare find for September, a CLAY-COL. SPARROW in a Williamsville yard.

In Port Weller, Ontario, September 28, at the Welland Canal piers, a LITTLE GULL on the water with several BONAPARTE'S GULLS. Also, 2 SURF SCOTERS, 3 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and 3 GREATER SCAUP passing the piers. In the woods at the canal, PHILADELPHIA VIREO, GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH and seven warbler species.

On the 28th at the Batavia Waste Water Plant, 2 EARED GREBES still among the RUDDY DUCKS, and a BROAD-WINGED HAWK perched on one of the fences.

Several days of birding in Amherst State Park this week resulted in a total of 18 warblers species, a good count for late migration. Also in the park, EASTERN SCREECH-OWL, EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, WARBLING VIREO, PHILADELPHIA VIREO, RED-EYED VIREO, WINTER WREN, GOLDEN-CR. KINGLET, RUBY-CR. KINGLET, SWAINSON'S THRUSH, WOOD THRUSH, BROWN THRASHER, SCARLET TANAGER, LINCOLN'S SPARROW and ROSE-
 BR. GROSBEAK.

 September 29, RUBY-T. HUMMINGBIRD on Woodbridge Avenue in  Buffalo.

September 24 through 27, in the Genesee County Town of Alabama, 36 to 40 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS on the west side of Route 77, just north of the former White Game Farm.

Back on September 24, in the Iroquois Refuge, an early SNOW GOOSE at Center Marsh and nearby Ring-neck Marsh. On Sour Springs Road near Roberts Road, an EASTERN MEADOWLARK.

Other reports this week - on the Lake Erie beaches in Fort Erie, Ontario, 11 shorebird species. Two COMMON RAVENS at the Meadows Road State Land in the Chautauqua County Town of Arkwright. NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH in a yard in Williamsville. And, several reports of YELLOW-B. SAPSUCKERS and WHITE-THR. SPARROWS.
