We were happy to have had your company at the Tower. Weather: Very sunny day 1-25% cloud cover; wind 4-12 mph from the northwest switching to the southwest late in count period; Barometer steady 30.12; visibility 28 km. Raptor Observations: Vultures finally got more than 1,000. We had trouble see them as well as any high flying bird. At times they were beyond the limit of vision and were only viewable with binocs. The lovely blue sky is the downfall of many a good watcher. We had one falcon pass that was argued for a spell even with fuzzy pictures. It looked like a small PG but later at home on the computer it was revealed as a very chubby male kestrel. The digital long lens camera is becoming a must at hawk watches. Non-raptor Observations: Predictions: Vultures are coming. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Bob Pettit ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
