Hello Ontbirders. So i'm a little dissapointed to say the least that I had to
find out from the Western New York dial a bird hotline that a White-winged Dove
is still in Ontario and no one is reporting it.

Indeed the bird is still present. After viewing the juv. Curlew Sandpiper this
morning at around 8a.m. I proceeded to the residence (4 Mississauga Rd.) in St.
Catherines that the bird had been frequenting in late August and the owner said
he had seen it as recently as last night.

Willie D'anna and I scoured the area for an hour to no avail but I also talked
to the owner of the backyard across from 4 Mississauga who is also a #4 house
on the next street behind and she let me come into her yard to have a look
around. She said that her husband and her had seen the bird in their bird bath
2 days ago, that it's a bit shy and that it has stopped calling in the last few
weeks so it has become harder to see. She say's she does see it fairly
regularly though.

Both owner's suggested later in the afternoon/early evening as a better time
because it may come into feed. There is plenty of seed out the back porch of 4
Mississauga Rd. so the bird may hang around for some time still (it's been over
2 months now...).

Directions: The area is just north of Lakeshore Rd. in St. Catherines, found
by exiting QEW via Niagara and taking Vine St. north to Lakeshore. I believe
it was your first left north of Lakeshore, than 2 streets down on the right but
consult google maps for better info.

Cheers,
