Weather:
A mostly cloudy day early, conditions for much of the day were a mix of sun
and cloud with moderate west-northwest winds.

Raptor Observations:
Vultures were active over the Canadian shoreline even in the first hour of
the count with the migration steady and even heavy at times throughout the
day today with the overall tally for TVs being the highest so far this
season. Many groups were in the 4-500 bird range with a couple of the
bigger kettles approaching the thousand bird echelon. Red-tails also saw
their best mark so far this fall although I think we were expecting an even
higher total for this species today. Always crowd pleasers, four Golden
Eagles in all were seen today and a tardy adult Broad-wing was a bit of a
surprise. Almost all laggards for this species turn out to be juveniles.
Interestingly, an observer south of the count area is quite certain of
seeing another Black Vulture.

Non-raptor Observations:
Crow migration has kicked into gear it seems with perhaps a couple thousand
being noted mixed in with the vulture streams today.
