Heather and Bill from Cambridge were back for their first visit since 1995. Jerry from Kingsville was there with his camera, and two Cub troops visited the tower and got to see Mute Swans through my scope. Weather: No rain, despite the forecast. Mostly cloudy, but cleared up in late afternoon. Strong winds out of south-west at 15 km/hr gusting to 34 km/hr. Plus/minus 10C. Raptor Observations: A slow day with the strong south-west winds. 5 juvenile Golden Eagles were the highlight. Non-raptor Observations: Little other migration: 2 Northern Flicker; 1 Downie Woodpecker; 3 Killdeer; 3 Tree Swallow. Gadwall and Northern Pintail are starting to show up in the marsh. Predictions: 80% chance of rain. Winds out of west gusting to 60 km/hr.
