Hello Ontbirders

We had an excellent day after some miserable weather yesterday.
It started early at Ottawa Beach (Andrew Haydon Park east) with a relatively tight flock of 11 Cackling Geese mixed with the Canadas. Also present was a Blue Goose. A flyover of a single adult winter Bonaparte's Gull was mildly interesting. When we returned at noon, there was an adult Greater White-fronted Goose in with the Canadas.

In a harvested farm field along Akins Road there was a tight flock of 42 American Golden Plovers.
Along Brownlee Road, we had a flock of 6 Lapland Longspurs.
In this general area there were several small flocks of Horned Larks, American Pipits, a flock of about 150 Snow Buntings, 5 various plumaged Rough-legged Hawks and a male Northern Harrier.
