Today Sunday Oct 26 at 9:00 am there was a female Black Scoter on Dow's Lake
on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. Later in the day, at 3:00 pm there was a male
White-winged Scoter giving good views at the big pond on Earl Armstrong Road
near High Road. Both ducks were accompanied by a mix of mergansers and
Ringed-necked ducks.

Dow's Lake is accessible from the Queen Elizabeth Drive way or on foot
through the Arboretum. Earl Armstrong runs east from River Road south of the
Ottawa airport. The pond mentioned is near its extreme eastern end.
