Peter Yoerg just called to report that he is watching the juv. SABINE'S GULL
at Squaw Island. The bird is about a tenth of a mile south of the
International Railroad Bridge right along the Squaw Island shoreline on the US
side.
The easiest way to reach the location is the cross the NORTH Squaw Island
bridge which is the one that crosses with the Railroad bridge. You can reach
the
north bridge by going south on Niagara St. from the Ontario St. exit off of
the 190. Just after passing Bridge St. on your left, you will go underneath
the railroad bridge and then make an immediate right onto I THINK Squaw
Island Rd./Ave.??--this is before you reach the traffic lights ahead and I
believe at the right turn there is a sign for Squaw Island park. (this is not
marked on Google). You can then continue over the bridge parallel to the
tracks
and park in the lot close to the river. From here walk south about .10 mile.
You can also follow J. Lazarczyks directions in his posts to the south end
of the island and walk north along the river from there. I apologize in
advance for any mix up in the directions at the moment.

To those in Fort Erie, you should be able to see the bird by scoping across
the River from the Niagara Pkwy. just south of the Railroad bridge. Of
course there's also the chance it will fly-over and raft/feed with the
Bonpartes.

Good luck.
