At 9:30a.m. today I observed a CAVE SWALLOW, which is quite likely the same
individual I saw on the 10th, around the lighthouse area of Prince Edward
Point. It was first seen about 300 metres west of the lighthouse along the
shoreline and then seen again from noon till 1:00p.m. around the lighthouse.
It spent most of its time close to shore, but a few times it ventured far out
into Lake Ontario. For about ten mintues it rested on the side of the
lighthouse and in an abandoned Cliff Swallow nest. Fortunately this time I had
my camera with me and was able to take some not-so-great photos, which can be
seen at http://www.flickr.com/photos/borealbruce/
Other noteworthy sightings were 1 NORTHERN GOSHAWK, 1 COMMON YELLOWTHROAT,
1 BLUE-HEADED VIREO, 3 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, 2 COMMON RAVENS, 3 FOX SPARROWS,
6 PURPLE FINCHES, 3 PINE SISKINS, 100's of GREATER SCAUP and LONG-TAILED DUCKS
and good numbers of WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and HORNED GREBES.

Cheers
