Very cold---0C---A rising BP and a medium to strong NW wind and exellent
thermals suggested a reasonable flight along the lakefront. Indeed, they came
through on 2 lines fromThickson Pt. to the east--6 sharp-shinned, 1 Cooper's,
52 Red-tailed and a Peregrine falcon.---SEE TABLE BELOW.

A sub-adult Cooper's Hawk landed in a sunlit tree at eye-level, along the path,
remaining there quite content for at least an hour.
Highlight non-raptors-- Common Goldeneye, marsh wren, swamp sparrow, song
sparrows, house finch, white-winged crossbills, pine siskins, brown creeper.

If you have not seen the AVOCET ask me to show you a superb photo taken by Herb
Parke.
