Heavier cloud cover moved into the area in the mid afternoon. Winds were light and predominately from the west. Raptor Observations: The flight was very much similar to yesterday although starting a bit later with the lighter winds today. In addition to another good Buteo movement we seem to be having a nice late-season push of Bald Eagles. What with the Goldens recorded today as well, there seemed to be an eagle of one species or the other in view for much of the day today. A couple of Rough-legs rounded out the highlights for the day. Non-raptor Observations: Tundra Swans continue to be one of the dominant non-raptor migrants with hundreds seen today including several large very high migrating skeins seen. Diving ducks continue to pour into the area as well. Bonapartes Gulls were a particularly numerous migrant early in the day and a group of seven Sandhill Cranes was noted as well. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
