Birders, I followed-up on Doug Lockrey's post from yesterday and am happy to say that the American Avocet can easily be seen actively feeding in the water north of the footbridge. For those of you who are lazy or carting a 4-month-old around (like me!), the bird is very easily seen from the parking lot of the Ajax Rotary Park. What a great Winter List bird (let alone a great Ontario bird)!
Good birding, Frank Pinilla Richmond Hill, ON DIRECTIONS: >From Hwy 401 east of Toronto, exit at Westney Rd. in Ajax and head south to Lake Driveway, turn right on this road and follow it as it winds through a residential area, as you near the lake you will see a sign for Rotary Park on your right. Enter here and park, if the bird is not visible from here, walk down to the bridge and search around. -- Sent from my mobile device _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
